The image of mottled celadon/grey is seated in padmasana on a lotus throne, before a high mandorla, his hands holding his bowl of the elixir of life at his waist. His hair is arranged in a high chignon, knopped with a cintimani, or wish-fulfilling jewel which rests upon lotus petals which cover the top of the hair. His face wears a tranquil, meditative expression, and his elongated earlobes depend to his shoulders. He wears a loose, flowing robe crossed at the breast, and a simple necklet of three strands. Purchased in Beijing in 1981 by a lady living in Cygnet, southern Tasmania.
