A striking Thangka painting depicting Paldhen Lhamo

The deity in her manifestation as Khumadhatvishvari Parvati accompanied by her acolytes Simhavaktra and Makaravaktra dakini rides through the ocean of blood mounted on her mule, over which hangs the flayed skin of her son. She is surmounted by Sarasvati, goddess of music and literature, and flanked by the Queens of the four seasons: top right hand: Varshad Rajni, Queen of autumn; top left hand: Sharad Rajni, Queen of monsoons ; lower left Vasanta Rajni, Queen of Spring, and lower right, Hemanta Rajni, Queen of winter.
