A miniature consecration drawing

Vajrapani, within his flaming nimbus, plunges to the right upon a prostrate corpse, brandishing his sword. He wears a characteristic crown, heavy pendant earrings and flowing celestial scarves.

Such drawings were rolled up and inserted into an image to consecrate it at the time of its first ‘awakening’. There is a blessing in ink to the reverse.
